How it works

From search to a working ENS name, here's exactly what happens — including the parts we do by hand.

What you need

  • An Ethereum wallet (a browser extension, or a mobile wallet via WalletConnect).
  • Your name is assigned to the wallet you sign in with. Make sure it's a wallet you control long term — not an exchange deposit address.

1. Search

Type the name you want. We check it against ENS naming rules, names we keep reserved, names already sold, and the Ethereum blockchain itself. Search results are a guide; a name is only secured once it's reserved for you.

Names use lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, and must be at least 3 characters long.

2. Sign in with your wallet

You sign a short message to prove you control the wallet. Signing is free: it doesn't send a transaction or cost gas. We never ask for your seed phrase or private key — anyone who does is not us.

3. Reserve and pay

When you choose a name, it's held for you for a short time while you review the terms and pay. Nobody else can buy it during that window. If you don't complete checkout, the hold expires and the name becomes available again.

4. We create your name onchain

After payment, a member of our team reviews the order and creates your subname on Ethereum with a signed transaction, assigning it to your wallet. We then read the blockchain to confirm it worked before marking your name active. The network fee for this transaction is included in your price.

You can follow each step — paid, being created, confirmed onchain, active — in your dashboard. If we can't create the name for any reason, you'll get a full refund.

5. Set up your profile

Add a display name, avatar, bio and links to your hosted profile page. With White-Glove Setup, we'll walk you through configuring your ENS records, primary name and wallet profile in a guided session.

Before you buy

A cillionaire.eth subname depends on the parent name and works differently from registering your own .eth name. Please read what you own before purchasing.
